It’s A Love Story, Baby Just Say Yes-The Wedding!

So not too much happened that was blogworthy during the year that we were engaged so I decided to skip it. I got the most beautiful wedding dress so that I could look like the princess that I truly am. Starved myself so I could be hot AND skinny (since I was already hot). Ok, I didn’t starve myself, my diet just consisted of Pepsi and cigarettes. (Kids-don’t try this at home!) The only rough part was finding someplace for us to get married. Dave is Jewish and I am Catholic. Because of this we wanted a non-traditional, non-religious wedding.

We found a beautiful hotel that had an atrium of sorts where we could actually have the ceremony. It was August and I figured that it would be hot and/or rain. And of course, it did both on our wedding day. We didn’t get each other anything except for a card that day because we wanted to have money for our honeymoon. The hubs was cute though, because along with a card, he had his best man give me our wedding countdown clock. It was super sweet!

The wedding was easy breezy and I cried almost the whole time because I was so happy. Dave even cried too, as a good man should. I will never forget the look on his face when I came walking down the aisle. Even though I knew that he was somewhat intoxicated (good friends) you could still see the love in his face!

The reception was amazing! Good friends, good food and great music. Oh and let’s not forget the Champagne fountain and abundance of liquor. EVERYONE was drunk and had the best time. I have yet to attend a wedding that beats ours. Some have come very close, but nothing will ever beat that day! Some highlights:

My dad surprised me by having them play “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC. Everyone died! Then of course they played “Butterfly Kisses” and I cried. We are both cry babies so it was funny. My dad actually bought a cd of father/daughter music because he wanted it to be perfect!

If you look closely at the next picture you will notice that everyone has their arms crossed. My now SiL caught the bouquet so all of the guys decided that my brother should catch the garter. So they all crossed their arms and refused to catch it. My brother is right over Dave’s left shoulder looking straight up.

Then there was the cake cutting….

He not only shoved it all over my face, it went up my nose too. I actually had to go wash my face in my hotel room and pick the cake out of my nose. Yeah it was pretty! Thank God we got married and had our reception at a hotel!
